Pineapple Financial Inks Deal with Crypto.com to Power Digital Asset Treasury Strategy

1d ago

Crypto.com Ltd said it is partnering with Pineapple Financial Inc. (NYSE: $PAPL) to support the execution of Pineapple’s US$100 million digital-asset treasury strategy centred on the Injective (INJ) protocol. Crypto.com will provide institutional custody and native staking services for Pineapple’s holdings, the companies said in a joint announcement.

Under the agreement, Pineapple, a publicly-traded fintech platform, will be the first listed company to hold INJ tokens (CRYPTO: $INJ), having already executed an initial acquisition of approximately US$8.9 million worth of INJ. Crypto.com will act as Pineapple’s primary custody agent and enable native staking of INJ to support long-term lock-ups and yield generation.

Eric Anziani, President and COO of Crypto.com, said the partnership underscores the firm’s leadership in delivering regulated-world infrastructure to companies building on-chain treasury strategies. “We’re pleased to support Pineapple Financial’s treasury strategy with the same rigour and reliability we offer global institutions,” he said.

Pineapple Financial CEO Shubha Dasgupta said teaming with a global exchange and custody platform such as Crypto.com enables the company to “maintain the highest standards of security and compliance while advancing the integration of blockchain technology into traditional finance.”

The partnership follows a shift in which public companies are building dedicated digital-asset treasuries — in this case anchored in a relatively newer layer-1 token rather than just Bitcoin (CRYPTO: $BTC) or Ethereum (CRYPTO: $ETH).

Shares of Pineapple Financial Inc. (PAPL) are trading at US$4.38, down 2.67 percent.
